Malala Yousafzai  is a school student and education activist from the town of 'Mingora' in the Swat District of Pakistan. This pakistani schoolgirl first came to public attention in 2009 when she wrote a BBC diary about life under the Taliban. Now recovering from surgery after being shot by the militants, the campaigner for girls' rights is in the spotlight again.
As she recovers in her bed at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Malala was photographed with her eyes open and clutching her teddy bear.

Malala was 11 when she began writing a diary for BBC Urdu. Her blogs described life under Taliban rule from her home town of Mingora, in the northwest region of Pakistan she affectionately calls "My Swat". She is known for her education and women's rights activism in the Swat Valley, where the Taliban has at times banned girls from attending school. She was nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize by Desmond Tutu and Malala is well-respected in Swat Valley for her political efforts, and even won the Pakistani National Youth Peace Prize in 2011.

At the beginning of 2009, Yousafzai had a chance to write for BBC Urdu when her father, Ziauddin, was asked by Abdul Hai Kakkar, a BBC reporter out of Pakistan, if any women at his school would write about life under the Taliban. At the time, Taliban militants led by Maulana Fazlullah were taking over the Swat Valley, banning television, music, girls’ education, and women from going shopping. Bodies of beheaded policemen were hanging from town squares. Yousafzai agreed to write and as she wrote the situation she faced by the taliban in her area, the Taliban published death threats in the newspapers and slipped them under her door. But she ignored them.
But on 9 October 2012, Yousafzai was shot in the head and neck and also two other girls were shot as well in an assassination attempt by Taliban gunmen while returning home on a school bus. It was Malala’s efforts to promote education and equality for girls in the Swat valley in Pakistan that made her such a threat in the eyes of the Taliban, and their reasoning for shooting her in the head on her way home from school on Oct. 9.

First picture: Brave Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by a Taliban gunman in Pakistan, clutches a teddy bear in her bed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham With bruises on her face and a teddy bear in her hands, this is the schoolgirl left for dead by the Taliban right now she is recovering in her bed at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Facing widespread condemnation for attacking Malala, a defiant Taliban said that the attack on her was justified as she had spoken out against the group and praised US President Barack Obama.Taliban described Yousufzai as a "spy of the West". They also said that "she used to propagate against mujahideen (holy warriors) to defame (the) Taliban. The Quran says that people propagating against Islam and Islamic forces would be killed".
I really appreciate for her fighting for her dreams and for education for girls. Lets pray for her to get recover soon. I wrote the story of Malala Yousafzai to make everyone aware about the brave work of this pakistani girl. Lets pray for her.....................
