Honda Gear concept Unveiled

Honda Canada has unveiled the latest and new Concept car-GEAR. This vehicle demonstrates Honda’s innovative approach to providing the automotive answer for young, urban, Gen-Y lifestyles. Inspired by fixed-gear bicycles, GEAR is a concept that represents an entirely new way of looking at the sub-compact vehicle. It is simple and utilitarian, but also customizable, connected and full of personality. It was unveiled in Montreal Auto Show 2013 which was held on this January.

World's Fastest FAMILY Car 2013

The incredible Cadillac CTS-V with 389km/h (242mph) is the World's fastest family car. It will outsprint any Lamborghini, Ferrari or Porsche ever built with only a handful of supercars quicker.

The CTS was Cadillac's first real step back into true world-class luxury cars, and now, two generations on, the Cadillac CTS-V has vaulted it to frontrunner-status of not just luxury, but performance cars, almost regardless of price. The 2013 CTS-V will continue being powered by the 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers a total of 556 HP and a peak torque of 551 lb.-ft. of torque - the most powerful engine in Cadillac’s history. The engine is mated to either a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual with a dual-disc clutch or a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted shift controls. The only changes will be the addition of two-piece front brake rotors and red Brembo brake calipers.

These performance adjustments will also come with a new exterior color - Glacier Blue Metallic - as well as a few exterior changes such as a larger grille to enable more air intake and a raised hood that encompasses the supercharged engine beneath it. The CTS-V will be distinguished by its special front and rear fascias and standard 19-inch wheels, as well as a rear spoiler that houses the center high-mounted stop lamp.

The engine features an inter-cooled Eaton Twin Vortices Series supercharger, which employs twin four-lobe rotors that are twisted 160 degrees. Typical superchargers feature three lobes twisted 60 degrees. The fourth lobe and greater helix profile, when combined with unique air inlet and outlet ports, create smoother, more efficient airflow into the engine. In addition to improved overall efficiency, this supercharger has superior noise and vibration characteristics compared to more ordinary designs.

The list of competitors for the CTS-V includes models that have a stories history in the automotive industry including German models like the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, as well as Japanese models like the Lexus IS-F which has soared in popularity in the past few years. The two German models have an amazing reputation that follows them wherever they go, but the CTS-V has won the hearts of many people around the world because of its price and its impressive list of standard features. This vehicle has allowed Cadillac to come out of the hole it has been digging for itself to attract a much wider market. According to official Cadillac website the price of  2013 CTS-V starts from $64,515.

Los Angeles Auto Show 2012

Here are some of the Amazing Cars that were revealed on Los Angeles Auto Show which was held on 28th November 2012:

1) Hyundai veloster c3 roll top:




Based on the 150kW/265Nm 1.6-litre Veloster Turbo, Hyundai says the C3 (for ‘convertible three-door’) Roll Top combines the open-air freedom of a drop-top with the style of a coupe and the functionality of a tailgate.
The Hyundai Design North America team drew inspiration for the Hyundai Veloster C3 Roll Top from fixed gear bicycles (‘fixies’) – not in the single-speed and no-brakes sense, but in terms of their minimalistic design, highly customisable nature and youthful appeal. The C3 Roll Top features a canvas roof that opens to either the windscreen or the tailgate. With the roof back, the Veloster concept acts as a ‘light convertible'.

2) Mercedes Benz Ener G Force:



From a design standpoint, the Ener-G-Force infuses many elements seen on the G-Class but with a much more modern interpretation giving it a new, yet recognizable appearance. These cues include the sunk-in headlights, turn signals/running lights mounted atop the front fenders, the long, flat roofline and the low, rectangular taillights, but the Ener-G-Force ditches the G-Class' boxy lines in favor of a more rounded shape.

One of the interesting elements of the concept is the roof rack. While it looks like a cargo rack that could be used for a safari, it is actually a way for the vehicle to collect water to store in tanks to then be transferred to a converter that creates hydrogen to power the fuel cells.

3) 2013 fiat 500L:


Fiat’s latest compact MPV is powered by a choice of 1.4-liter regular and Twin Air four-cylinder engines, plus a 1.3-liter turbocharged MultiJet series II motor. As with most vehicles in the segment in Europe, the 500L will be available with both manual and automatic transaxles and possibly the semi-auto Dualogic found in other Fiat 500 models.
With the new Fiat 500 representing the first vehicle from the Italian automaker to arrive on North American shores since 1982 (1985 if you count the Pininfarina 124 Spider), there’s definitely a chance the L model will make it here too, though with US Fiat sales so far having fallen short of estimates, it might be a while before you see the L in North American showrooms.

4) 2014 Acura RLX:


Acura has officially taken the wraps off its all-new flagship sedan, the 2014 Acura RLX. Aside from its huge step forward in terms of styling and luxury, the new RLX could very well be the most advanced Acura model ever. One of the car's signature elements is its jewel-eyed LED headlights that could end up rivaling Audi for the most distinctive in the business.
On the technology front, the RLX debuts driving features such as Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS), Adaptive Cruise Control with a low-speed follow feature and Agile Handling Assist while the interior gets a high-end Krell audio system, cloud-based AcuraLink and a multi-angle back camera. P-AWS allows the RLX actively and independently adjust the angle of the rear wheels for better agility and braking. Acura ended up cutting almost 275 pounds from the RLX's curb weight (compared to the RL) thanks to the use of high-strength steel and aluminum.The 2014 RLX uses a 310-horsepower, direct-injected V6 to power the front wheels through a six-speed automatic, and it will go on sale in the spring; the 370-hp RLX hybrid goes on sale later next year.

5) 2014 Kia Forte Sedan:



The Forte is offered in LX or EX guise, each of which comes with a different engine. The LX (base model) comes equipped with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 148 horsepower and 131 lb-ft of torque, while the top-spec EX sedan gets a more robust 173 horsepower and 154 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0-liter direct-injected inline-four-cylinder engine. While LX buyers have their choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, EX buyers are treated only to a six-speed autobox. Both the models are loaded with many features.

6) 2014 Porsche Cayman:

The engineer has applied new facelift to make the car worth buying among the tight competition in its class. The vehicle looks sportier and lighter. The performance is more amazing than before since the lightweight material has been used to define the car. The longer wheelbase offers you with more leg room. The cabin is spacious to make the driver and passengers sit conveniently.

7) Volvo S60 Polestar:


As a refresher, Volvo S60 Polestar, the four-door is fitted with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine (3.0-liter) generating an impressive 508 horsepower. Its close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox sends power to all four wheels through a fourth-generation Haldex XWD system. With a decent driver behind the steering wheel, the Polestar can crack the 60 mph benchmark in about 3.7 seconds as it rushes towards a top speed in excess of 186 mph.

8) 2013 Fiat 500e:


Its a electric city car packed with enough Earth-saving tech. The multi-contrast exterior is grouped into three color packages, including an e-Sport Package that pairs mean with green. The Interior can be had in either Nero or Steam, both coming with Electric Orange accents, and a seven-inch TFT screen with all kinds of electric-car-status details.
Juice comes courtesy of a 111-horsepower electric-drive motor with 147 pound-feet of torque, using a battery rated at 24 kWh. Range is estimated at "more than 80 miles" on the 15-inch Firehawk GT low-rolling resistance tires

9) 2014 Mazda6:


The mid-size sedan looks very sharp, and powered by the Japanese automaker's latest line of Skyactiv engines, it ought to be efficient and solid to drive, as well. The 2014 Mazda6 gets the new range of Skyactiv engines, including the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G (gas) engine that makes 110 kW (148 horsepower), sending power to the front wheels through either a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic, or a six-speed Skyactiv-MT manual gearbox. The uprated engine is a Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter unit, developing 141 kW (189 horsepower). This engine is mated to the aforementioned automatic.

10) 2014 Fiesta ST:


The new Fiesta ST drops a peppy EcoBoost engine under the hood and gets the usual styling upgrades expected from an ST-badged car.Available only as a hatchback with a six-speed manual gearbox, the 2014 Fiesta ST gets the 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder that Ford has initially rated at 197 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque.
The car also gets an electronic Torque Vectoring Control and a driver-selectable, three-mode stability control system to go with specially tuned steering and a stiffened, lowered suspension. For its styling, Ford gave the Fiesta ST an aggressive look with a new front fascia and lower chin spoiler, a rear fascia diffuser, dual exhaust outlets and exclusive 17-inch wheels.

11) 2013 RAV4 Toyota:



Available in LE, XLE, and Limited trim levels, the 2013 RAV4 will go on sale early in 2013 with pricing to be announced closer to that date. All RAV4 models will come equipped with steering wheel audio controls, Bluetooth, and a 6.1-inch display audio screen with a back-up camera, plus 8 airbags. Optional extras include a Blind Spot Minor that includes a Rear Cross Traffic Alert feature to alert the driver if another vehicle is approaching from the sides, when traveling at speeds below 15 mph.
Power continues to come from a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder though output is actually down three ponies to 176 hp, while torque stays even at 172 lb-ft. As for the more fuel-thirsty V6, it’s been dropped entirely.

12) Nissan Hi-Cross:



The Hi-Cross concept seats seven, is powered by a direct-injected 2.0-liter gasoline engine backed by an electric motor that Nissan says produces power similar to a conventional 2.5-liter engine. Given the fact that this is a three-row concept and has such a small engine, perhaps the Hi-Cross is just hinting at a production CUV for the European market, as the Pathfinder would likely be perceived as too large to drive on The Continent.

13) 2014 Chevy Spark EV:



The five-passenger pure-electric is fitted with a 20-plus kilowatt-hour battery pack driving the front wheels. Thanks to its 110 kW (130 horsepower) electric motor generating a whopping 400 pound-feet of torque, it scoots to 60 mph in less than eight seconds. Even better, Chevy is promising it will offer "among the best EV battery range in its segment" and the capability to accept SAE Combo DC Fast Charging (this means it is able to reach 80-percent battery charge in just 20 minutes).

14) 2014 Kia Sorento:



he 2014 Sorento will come in LX V6, EX V6, SX, and SX Limited trims. The engine is also available as an option on the LX and EX trim levels. Standard on the LX and EX is the 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder which replaces the previous Sorento’s standard 2.4-liter MPI four-cylinder. The 2.4-liter, four-cylinder packs 191 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. Regardless of engine, the Sorento will come with a six-speed automatic transmission. Also standard in the 2014 model year is Electric Motor Driven Power Steering, which replaces the hydraulic unit found in the previous model year Sorento. The Sorento comes with a choice of 17-, 18-, or 19-inch wheels.
